Merci aux donateurs anonymes, Bloodhound est en passe de battre le record du monde de vitesse sur terre <\/a>en octobre de l'ann\u00e9e prochaine. L'ensemble du projet a \u00e9t\u00e9 largement tributaire des dons, qui ont diminu\u00e9, obligeant certains ing\u00e9nieurs \u00e0 accepter des contrats \u00e0 court terme ailleurs. Initialement, nous nous attendions \u00e0 ce qu'une course d'essai \u00e0 vitesse r\u00e9duite soit organis\u00e9e dans l'ann\u00e9e, mais elle aura lieu en juin de l'ann\u00e9e prochaine au Royaume-Uni. La tentative de record \u00e9tait pr\u00e9vue pour Avril-mai de l'ann\u00e9e prochaine<\/a> mais aura d\u00e9sormais lieu en octobre.<\/p>\n

Apr\u00e8s avoir re\u00e7u le nouveau financement, le directeur du projet, Richard Noble, a indiqu\u00e9 qu'il s'agissait probablement du moment le plus important dans l'histoire du projet. Auparavant, le projet ne pouvait \u00eatre financ\u00e9 que pour quelques mois, alors qu'aujourd'hui, il est possible de se concentrer pleinement sur le projet.<\/p>\n

Bloodhound ressemble \u00e0 une machine f\u00e9roce mesurant 13,4 m\u00e8tres de long et pesant environ sept tonnes et demie. Il est propuls\u00e9 par un moteur \u00e0 r\u00e9action Rolls-Royce Ej2000 et un moteur Jaguar V8 suraliment\u00e9, qui entra\u00eene la pompe \u00e0 oxydant de la fus\u00e9e. Ensemble, ils produisent une puissance de freinage stup\u00e9fiante de 135 000 chevaux. L'\u00e9quipe pr\u00e9voit d'utiliser une configuration monopropulseur qui garantira qu'aucun grain de carburant n'est br\u00fbl\u00e9 dans le moteur. Pour produire la pouss\u00e9e attendue, le peroxyde d'hydrog\u00e8ne est pomp\u00e9 sous pression \u00e0 travers un catalyseur, o\u00f9 il se d\u00e9compose en oxyg\u00e8ne et en vapeur. Les gaz chauds passent ensuite \u00e0 travers une tuy\u00e8re \u00e0 grande vitesse.<\/p>\n

En octobre 2017, Bloodhound tentera de battre le record actuel de 763,035 miles \u00e0 l'heure \u00e9tabli par Thrust SSC, il y a exactement 20 ans<\/a>. Il est int\u00e9ressant de noter qu'Andy Green, qui a pilot\u00e9 SSC et \u00e9tabli le record actuel, pilotera Bloodhound dans le but de battre son record. Pour l'instant, l'\u00e9quipe souhaite d\u00e9monter la voiture et cr\u00e9er un manuel d'utilisation auquel les m\u00e9caniciens pourront se r\u00e9f\u00e9rer dans le d\u00e9sert. Plus tard, l'\u00e9quipe reconstruira la voiture avant de l'envoyer en Cornouailles pour une course d'essai \u00e0 220 mph.<\/p>\n

Il convient de noter que l'objectif principal de la cr\u00e9ation de ce v\u00e9hicule n'est pas de battre le record du monde, mais d'inspirer la prochaine g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de scientifiques et d'ing\u00e9nieurs.<\/p>\n
